WELCOMING PASTOR ANNA HELGEN
Edina Community Lutheran Church voted to call Pastor Anna Helgen as our new pastor at the Special Congregational Meeting held on Sunday, October 6. Pastor Helgen will begin her ministry with us on Sunday, December 1. It is a true gift to walk together in faith, and we look forward to Pastor Helgen’s ministry among us.

SEMINARIAN BEN DYRHAUG This fall we welcome a new Seminarian completing requirements for his Christian Public Leader course at Luther Seminary. Ben Dyrhaug is a recent graduate from Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota having majored in history and religion. He has just begun his studies at Luther Seminary this fall on the path to ordination within the ELCA. You can often find Ben at a library or out enjoying nature. Having sung in choirs his whole life, Ben is also passionate about music. Ben looks forward to leading worship, accompanying the pastors on visits, helping to lead Bible study on occasion, attending meetings and learning more about ministry. Look for Ben and welcome him to ECLC!

LET’S PACK THE CHURCH FOR PASTOR CONCHI: All year long, we stand in solidarity with our Salvadoran siblings from Cristo de Paz. This Sunday, we have the rare opportunity to do that in person. Pastor Conchi will be with us and preaching, as well as in Sunday School between services. Please show up for Pastor Conchi in worship and stay for lunch after the 11am service where we will celebrate her and she will talk about health ministries in El Salvador!

SUNDAY FORUM for Oct. 13: Walking Meditation As Deacon Lauren recently noted during worship, sometimes we pray with our words and sometimes we pray with our actions or with our bodies. This Sunday, we pray with our feet! Join us as we discuss mindfulness in the Christian context, contemplative prayer, and practice “going in peace” with a walking meditation / prayer walk through our sanctuary and outside (weather permitting).
